Evangelist Dale Brown is the daughter of the late Bishop Robert and Missionary Zara Parran. Evangelist Brown grew up in the “Lincoln Heights” section of Washington, DC, and attended the DC public schools.
During her earlier years, her family attended Kings Apostles Holiness Church in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, where Bishop Calvin Herbert was Pastor. It was during this time that she accepted the Lord as her savior. It was here she began singing in the “Sunshine Band.” While living in Lincoln Heights, her father was considered the neighborhood icon by getting young people together to keep the housing development clean. He would pay each one a nickel for picking up trash. He would later become known as the “Bread-Man.” With him being one of the few men owning a vehicle, he had the means of driving to the bakery and picking up bread requests for the neighborhood. His role as the neighborhood Bread-Man would later be expanded to that of spiritual bread. It was in this neighborhood that God led him to start a neighborhood Bible study. This Bible study would later become the basis of Wayside Holiness Church. The family then moved their membership to Wayside in 1970. It was the Fall of this year that Evangelist Brown moved to Aurora, Illinois to attend Aurora College. While in Aurora, she attended Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ (COGIC) where Bishop Charles Bonner served as Pastor. She enjoyed singing with the Radio Broadcast Choir at Mt. Olive, and taking her college friends to church with her. Evangelist Brown became a Missionary under the auspices of Wayside Holiness Church.
Evangelist Brown graduated from Aurora College in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration in May, 1974. In July of the same year she began her 7 year career with Xerox Corp. In that same month, she also became the wife of Paul E. Brown of Shenandoah Junction, WV. Her career was put on hold when she had two little ones, Justin and Kendra, 15 months apart. Once returning to the working world, she served in the capacity of Preproduction Coordinator, Documentation Supervisor, and Quality Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific for almost 25 years. She is now employed as a Fraud Operations Specialist at Citicorp in Hagerstown, MD.
Evangelist Dale has held a number of leadership roles including Chair of the local American Society of Quality (ASQ), President of the Holiness Ministers Wives and Widows Council, Vice President of the House of Prayer Missionary Circle and Chaplain of the Young People’s Conference. Her roles at her local church include First Lady, Church Musician, Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Fellowship Facilitator, Missionary, Evangelist, Praise Team Member, Choir Member, and Member of the Board of Trustees. She lives by the Word and asserts “Whatsoever your hands find to do, do it as unto the Lord.”
